To ring in 2009 we went to Quidi Vidi Lake, a 15 minute walk from our house, and watched the fireworks display put on by the city. It was chilly but bearable (-7 I believe). The actual countdown to 2009 was pretty lame; the crowd just starting yelling "5, 4, 3, 2, 1", there was no build-up to it. I guess it was more about the fireworks than midnite. The fireworks were nice, there were some heart-shaped ones which were cute, but no big finale which was a bit disappointing. All in all, I'm glad we did it. And to carry on with tradition, at 12 EST we watched the ball drop in Times Square and got to ring in the new year all over again.
We want to wish our family and friends a wonderful 2009!! We're looking forward to what this year will bring!
